Jayco Awning Material Replacement

We have a 2015 Jayco Redhawk 23xm Class C. Just noticed what appears to be the beginning of a small tear in the awning material. Will be bringing rv home from storage tomorrow to take a close look at it. Is the awning material replacement a do-it-yourself job or better done be a dealer? First rv and never done this type of repair. Thanks.

It can be tricky since you have to lock the springs with a cotter key or nail. I personally have done several and it is a two/three person job. It really all depends on your comfort level.

Did a search before I posted, but didn't see what you reference. Thanks.

I helped my neighbor replace his, it was a manual awning and as Grumpy said a pin of some kind is necessary to keep the rewind spring under control. Can be done with 2 but 3 people make it easier.
Search YouTube for some tutorials. The awning brand may also impact the exact procedure.

If you still have need for replacement, help go to do a search for Tough Top. They have great replacement material as well as how to videos on there web site.
