Keeping water lines fresh in Summer

Sorry if this has been covered, I did a quick search and haven't seen it.

We camp at all times of the year. We need to winterized the water lines and drains when it's cold, but in the summer, sometimes the trailer sits in the back yard in the heat for a month or two, and that's too long to let water sit.
So I have been doing a lot of draining and flushing when it is sitting, wasting time and water.
It finally occurred to me yesterday after 5 years of doing this that there's a better way.
Now I am doing all my backyard watering by running the water through the trailer.
I use the tank water when I'm hand watering or car washing (That way I'm there when the tank runs dry). I use city water for watering grass.
So now I will always have fresh water in all lines and water tank.
If you do this, make sure you use both hot and cold water lines with the water heater OFF (I just use the outside shower faucet) so the hot water tank and lines stay fresh too.

Now when we get a break in the action around here and can take off for a while- the water is already fresh.
