L.P. Alarm

I noticed the L.P. Alarm going off a couple weeks ago while my 2010 Greyhawk 31SS was parked in the driveway. I was only plugged in to a 120 outlet so only the refer and a tabletop fan were on. I silenced the alarm and turned off the valve at the propane tank. The alarm sounded again about 10 mins later. I silenced it and that was it till yesterday. I was running on generator, monthly maintenance run, and about 30 minutes in i got the L.P. Alarm again. Any thoughts?

There is a lp gas sniffer. I would ask an LP dealer if they have one to loan and/or check it for you. You can also WITH THE POWER OFF NO Sparks turn on the lp gas and go to all the pipe, pipe joints and connections and paint with water/dish soap mix looking for bubbles.

You may have a stuck valve on the stove, furnace, etc.

It might be a bad alarm, but I would find out for sure there is no leak!

I believe our LP alarm also is a CO detector too.

But your Greyhawk is 8-9 years old. Typically detectors only have a 5-10 year life. I suspect your detector is old and needs to be replaced.

At the same time it would verify that you do not have a gas leak of some type. FYI, it would not be surprised that the generator exhaust would set off the alarm if the exhaust is entering the MH

Thanks. I'm guessing generator fumes since I've had the propane shut off at the bottle since the alarm first went off.
I'm going to replace the detector. I didn't even think of age.

Remove the CO detector, there should be a replace by date on it. At least mine had one. It is recommended to replace every 5 years.
