LED conversion

I found that we had a bad bulb on one of our rear brake/turn lights. I was shopping in the local auto store for a replacement + spare and saw that they had a huge selection. Several brands of LED direct base replacements were also available. After I got up from the shock of the cost, I decided to just stay with the oe incandescents in a 2 pack , so now I have a spare.

I read a lot about members replacing their rear fixtures with new ones w/LED's. and wonder if any have considered just replacing with the new type bulbs?

They seemed to be priced about the cost of a new fixture but seems it would be a easier alternative if one wanted to convert.

Conversion to LED's

I changed all of the exterior lights on my 195RB to LED's that I bought very reasonably off ebay. I did this to lower amperage requirement for the circuit. Reason being, I power my rear view camera with the clearance light circuit and travel with Clearance Lights and Camera ON. LED conversion works great and easy on the pocketbook.
