LED Replacement
I didn't see a previous thread on this that fit my scenario, so thought I would try asking the question. Thanks in advance for the help.
I bought several LED replacements for 921 bulbs through Amazon. They were marketed as RV replacements:
AUTOSAVER88 20X T10 Wedge Side RV Trailer 42-SMD LED Pure White Interior Light 192 168 2825
When I tried inserting them into my overhead lights, they did not work. They would only insert one way. So I stopped by Camping World and picked up a single for $12. After inserting this one the correct way, it lit up.
So here is my question - both LED's are the same style but from different manufacturers. Are there a particular type that I need to buy to make them work in camper. I can't digest $12/light from Camping World if I can get them on Amazon for less.

Either your fixture or the LED is probably wired backwards. The LED has a + and a - side and won't work if reversed. Since the CW one worked my $ is the LED is backwards. Did you try more than one of the first batch you bought?

I tried three of them. The fact that I can't reverse them and your comment about +/- side leads me to believe that if I will have to send them back. Thank you!

About 5 years ago - in the early days of LED's, I bought a bunch of 921 replacement LED's off E-bay that were shipped directly from China. Took 3 weeks to get them but they were super cheap. Of the 12 I ordered, one didn't work at all, one only 1/2 the LED's lit and the rest were sill working when I sold the unit last month.
These were weird however - they were a flat board with about 12 LED's on them, circuitry on the board between the LED's and a "plug" on a short wire that plugged into the 921 bulb socket. You used dbl sided tape to glue the board into the back of the fixture then plugged in the wire. Much better stuff available now. But I did learn the + / - thing at that time.

Try installing again the bulbs are polarity sensitive but the bases are not one way.. it should slide in..

X2 Many of the cheaper ones are polar sensitive. Others [typically the more $$]are not. I purchased 4 replacement fixtures w/ leds and none of them worked. The fixtures had red and black wire leads that connected to the TT wiring. Common sense to me anyway was to wire black to black and the other one [red] to the white. I later found out that the black wire in the TT is + and the Red wire on the fixture is the positive one. So as wrong that it might sound, black to red and white to back was the correct way to wire the fixture. They won't work if the polarity is reversed. Not technical so don't understand why but its true with many leds.

Some of the 921 replacements have the wedge base integrated into the card that the LED's are mounted on. If it's wired backwards then the LEDs would face the wrong way if you reversed the base.

When I converted my old trailer (1983 vintage) to LED lighting in 2014, I bought all new fixtures because the switches, reflectors and lenses were badly worn and the cost of just the bulbs was close to that of whole modern fixtures.

Thank you - I tried one more time. Previously I was trying not to break anything, but with some pressure they went in. It also helped to have the lights turned on because the LED would light up with fully inserting them. And since the LED's can be touched, it allows you to get them inserted without burning your fingers.

I have been using these for about a year with no problems. They are polarity sensitive. My only complaint is they are just a tad dimmer than the stock incandescent bulbs. You can get a 10 pack for $20.

Glad you are happy with them. I don't want anything that is polarity sensitive. I just ordered 12 from another supplier that are rated differently. I'll be reporting on how they look when they get here.

I bought mine off amazon and I found I had to wiggle them into the socket, they didn't just drop in really easy. They work great, hope this helps.

Bought all mine from M4 Products. Not as cheap as what's on Amazon but these work perfectly and are not polarity sensitive. Light color is amazing. We will be pulling them all out when it's trade in time since they last forever.
