Lost clearance light lens
Good morning,
I recently discovered one of our amber clearance light lenses was missing (blew off during drive to campground). They are made by Command Electronics (part # SAE-AP2-00).
I checked the others on the trailer and most were very loose (very easily popped off by me).
QUESTION: Should I use a bead of clear silicone to make these more secure?
I ordered several extra lenses in amber and red to keep on hand if needed:

No problem on the caulk. It would also keep out water.

Yep I would use caulk. I lost one too last season. Has held fine since.

Would y'all recommend putting a bead of caulk all along the entire edge of the lens before snapping it in place or just in a couple of "spots" to secure it?

So now how do you get it off when you need to change da bulb?

I would not use silicone if you use a full bead, will be a devil to remove.

I said caulk and it is not like crazy glue. It can be pulled off. Have u ever tried? I'm sure my 10 year old would have no problem lol...

I did this to our lenses, after losing one from the front cap of the fiver. Leave the bottom edge free of silicone so any condensation can drain out.

Good morning. I have researched the topic of re-attaching lens covers and I am honestly more confused than when I started.
Seems there are two very strong opinions...silicon caulk is the devil or it is just fine.
One last request for advice on which product is best for fastening lens covers on marker/clearance lights:
(1) ProFlexRV
(2) Dicor no-sag (for vertical surfaces)
(3) GE 35-year exterior silicone caulk

I used clear silicone tube on mine from local hardware store - easy for me to pull it off... I didn't really use a whole tube to seal it - just enough to make it stay in place.
If your lenses have the wep hole drilled in it be sure you place that on the bottom.. One of my SCARE LIGHTS came from the dealer with the wep hole on top. It eventually filled up with water and ran down inside the trailer through the wiring holes.
