Low Point Drains

I seem to have a little problem with my low point drains in the front of my HT 26.5 RLS. They started leaking this spring and it doesn't seem that I can get them to stop. They have the little "t" valves and when I pressure up the system, the valves pop up and the drains leak. Has anybody had this type of problem and, if so, what did you do to fix it? I know it's not a big deal, but I'm not much of a repairman and we don't have a dealer here in town.

One of mine started leaking about a month ago. I went to Home Depot and bought a "Shark Bite" straight shut-off valve - the kind that have a 1/2" copper/cpvc/pex fitting on one end, and a 3/8" male compression fitting on the other end (like what you'd put under your sink). I just pushed it onto the end of the hose that was leaking and turned the valve OFF - which is perpendicular to the run of the line. Seems to have worked for me!

Mine leaked too, but it seemed like it was debris keeping it from making a good seal. It was a slow leak, but it created mud by my outdoor kitchen regardless. It was under warranty, so the dealer simply replaced those shutoffs with screw on caps.

The shark bite fitting are great if you want a simple fix, you can also buy them on Amazon. Or your local hardware store should have a compression valve that you could install inside just before the defective valve or a simple install would be to place it on the end of the drain tube outside under the trailer. As someone else said it could be some junk that was in the water line that is now stuck in the valve, I would try opening and closing that valve several times hopefully flushing it out with a rush of water.

There should be little wire clips that hold/lock the valves down but still enable you to pull up on them for drainage. When mine start dripping I just twist the tops back and forth and it usually stops because it reseals itself. I have replaced the little o-rings inside and coated them with vaseline and haven't had a problem for quite awhile now.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll start looking at it this week and see what I can do. Not much of a repairman, but I know a guy who is.

I just turned off the water, released the pressure off the lines and pulled the t-valve all the way out and greased the o rings with a little plumbers grease.

Just thought I would let you know that I got my problem fixed. Since I lost one of the retaining clips, I just bought two new valve sets and then took the new valves and clips and put everything together, pressured up the system and, yeh, no leaks, at least for the time I had it pressured up. Hopefully this will work right from now on. I know it wasn't a big deal, but it needed to be fixed. Thanks for your suggestions, they were most helpful.
