Middle Stabilizer Stuck Down

I thought I was doing something wrong but have been following the instructions step by step and this seems to be happening every single time.

When I hook up to the truck and Retract All on the Lippert 6-point electric system, the middle stabilizer extensions are always (always) stuck. The jacks are fully retracted but the shafts are still out and clearly under load. There is weight on them and I cannot pull the pin to retract the extensions.

We are using blocking as I have been told by the dealer that the system works best when the stabilizers and levelers don't get extended as much (so we use wooden blocking under all 6 levelers.

A workaround would be to pull the blocking and/or pins while the front jacks are extended and before I back the truck back in to reconnect. Is that the recommended way?

Should I just not be using blocking? I am NOT thrilled with my dealer and don't trust anything they have told me so far - is this another piece of bad advice from them?

I have attached a picture of how I have the middle jacks blocked as it sits today (rv resort with cement pad, so nothing would have sunk and caused this issue -another possibility I had considered until we stayed at this place....)

Am I doing it wrong?

I too have have had many, too many , issues with same system . Not the issue you are having . Try raising the front jacks , that should relieve pressure on middle jacks allowing you to at least be able to pull pin , then hook up to truck , hit raise all jacks . That should work . I was put in contact directly with a Lippert rep , he was able to help me reset zero , system has worked since, knock on wood . Hope this helps . Contact dealer and ask to be put in contact with a Lippert tech as soon as practical

Are you first scrolling down to retract rear jacks?

Yes. Step 1 - Retract Rear Jacks. Then Left & Riht buttons raise it up to the height where the truck can reconnect. Then "Retract All" loads it onto the truck and pulls everything up.

slaw32 - I assume you meant Drop the front jacks again to raise the trailer up so I can remove the pins and pull away the middle. That would work, hadn't thought about that - but would like to avoid it as that would add another 5 min into the job as the truck will already be loaded with the trailer weight at that point.

(Man - I really feel like I'm whjning about "Firat World Problems" now, but hey, $65k for the trailer, it should work, right?)

I like our idea about contacting Lippert directly. Thank you!

This has happened to me also. You pretty much have to raise the front enough to relieve pressure on the center stabilizers when this happens. Also use the least amount of blocks you can on the center jacks.

X-2 . I don't use blocks under any of the legs and keep the center and rear at least two inches off the ground before I start the auto sequence.

Works great if site is relatively level and some parks require blocks.

As a campground host the biggest problem I have with campers is the power leveling jacks.. they just don't seem to work right.. (all brands) I am always trying to help people get them back up so they can leave.. and some wont come down when they arrive...

I've had nothing but issues with the new system. The only jacks that have pull out pins are the fronts. They told me to use a 6"x6" under ALL jacks and only have the front pins in the #6 hole. This last weekend the camper settled and I couldn't get the pins to pull for the front after I was connected to the truck. My only saving grace is that I just installed the Firestone airbags to the rear of my truck. I inflated enough to raise the front to pull the pins. This system is NOT right.

Who's they? The dealer, JAYCO or LIPPERT? If the answer is #1 that is your problem.

There is nothing in the owners manual that states "Use 6x6 blocks"

I have the levelegs system on my Jayco. It has 4 jacks. The very first time I got on a RV site (pad) it was leaning to the rear. After I put my chocks down behind my wheels and raise the front to unhitch, I hit the auto button. The rear jacks bottomed out and the system locked up. I had to hook the camper back to the truck and start over. This was after two phones calls. Was told by the factory rep. To place blocks under the rear jacks only because there is no adjustment on them. The front has pins you can pull out and adjust your feet closer to the ground. (It looks like the 6 jack system on the newer models has adjustments on the middle legs too). I now always put 1 to 4 orange pads under each rear leg after I have unhitched and before I hit the auto bottom. That depends on how level the site is front to rear. I have never had a problem sense that first time. It has been setup at least 35-40 times
