Misc problems updated, Swift 154bh

I haven't been too active on the forum since last fall. Here's a little history. My Swift was under recall for the AC drip pan. Condensation leaked into the camper instead of draining out. I live near Columbus Ohio, and we bought our camper in Cincinnati. I did not want to drive that far for a repair, but the retailer has a place in Dayton, so I took it there. A little over an hour's drive. When I got the camper back, the condensation drained in worse than before!! So I took it back. after the second repair, it was October, and there was not enough moisture in the air to test the AC. So this spring, I made sure the camper was level and ran the AC, and guess what? Still draining in.

Being somewhat unhappy, Jayco was contacted, and we were directed to another repair service east of Columbus. The camper is still there. They are waiting on another recall kit. It seems the first place installed it backwards on the first "repair," and for the second repair, they drilled holes in the back of the pan to try to make the water drain out on that side. The new service tech assures me the repair is simple, and we will have it back in time for our next camping reservation.

They are also replacing the LP regulator under warranty. It crapped out on my final camp last October.

So Jayco is doing the right thing overall, but this one service department in Dayton has cost me a lot in time and fuel expenses.

Warranty and recalls can be done at any Jayco dealer.. you do not have to take it back to where you bought it... that said some dealers do prioritize their own customers... and I can understand that... I would tell the local dealer that you bought it THEN moved into the area.. they will want to impress you with how good they are ...maybe...

The drama may be over. Jayco sent the wrong recall kit to the dealer, postponing the repair by a week, but it is finally done and home. One small hitch...

The tech didn't realize the power cord was supposed to be tucked in and run into the cabinet. A few minutes of work, and they had it done up right. No signs of leaking. Let's hope it stays that way!

At the risk of beating a dead horse here, it's service people like this that compel me to change my own oil.
Glad to hear that you've finally gotten the repair done! There's nothing like being dry and cool while camping.
