Yaknow? Steel wool isn't a bad idea. Mice can gnaw through foam but do not like to gnaw through steel wool. Mayhap a layer of steel wool at the outside portion of the opening with foam going over the steel wool to stop drafts.

Jeannie,

U may have something there. I wonder if I could put down a thin layer of foam, then the steel wool, and then finish up with another layer of foam. I'm thinking that perhaps the foam would encase the steel wool and help prevent it from rusting away.

Just a follow up: I filled the offending hole with foam. The interesting thing about it, is that it took three cans. The first two cans were defective and would not release the material. The third worked like a champ. The repair worked out nicely. Thanks for all the replies to my questions.

Welcome aboard! I have a 2008 197 that I bought this spring (March 2011). It was like new, used very little, almost 0 miles. Very nice little trailer. I've made a couple of mods, as others have. So far, I've had it out on gopher shooting tours, about 8 nights in total.

Interesting about the holes in the floor. I have a shop that I can fit mine in, so I will definitely have a gander.

I like the way JAYCO has built this trailer. It is easy to pull, and is neatly arranged inside.

Enjoy!!
