New Awning

I need a new awning. The current one got ripped by a flying shed. Is it something I can do myself or do I need the dealer to it. If I can do it myself where can I buy an awning cheaper than the dealer?

I bought one at this place last Spring and the price was reasonable (I thought). Have not installed it yet but appears to be fairly easy but will need two people to do the job.

Go to the RVGeeks website. They have a great youtube video that shows how to replace an awning.

Yes you can. it's stupid simple. Be careful reading on line. A lot of the "experts" tell you its dangerous. it's not. You should just be able to change out your fabric. Amazon has it cheaper than others. Just takes a friend and an hour or two. I've replaced one and tightened the springs on another. Both Care Free's. An RV tech told me once to stay with whatever brand you have already because the mounts are different between brands.

If it's care free just get your self a small nail or pin and pin the non ratchet side. A couple ladders and you're good to go. If you happen to have an 48 foot Flatbed for a big rig available it makes the job a lot easier. Just sayin.
