New Propane Regulator

After going through propane issues and on my TT I finally changed out the old regulator and replaced it with a Marshall 253H. However, I’m still having problems. I thought the tanks could be low on fuel but both will work on my turkey frier. Could both hoses have gone bad at the same time?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

There is a safety valve in the pig-tail that will close if a line bursts. Opening the tank valve quickly can cause it to close also. I was told by a tech at a propane shop that sometimes they will open when pressure is released and sometimes not. He suggested disconnecting the pigtail and rap it against something solid to dislodge the valve, and opening the tank valve SLOWLY.

I had to give that a try. After rapping the pigtail against the tongue and reconnecting, and slowly opening the tank valve I could hear gas going through the line. But in less than one compo turn the flow stops sharply. I’m guessing bad pigtails?

Can you loosen at the water heater or stove and apply leak detector to know if line is blocked? Without a 'use' the flow will soon stop after turning on slowly.

Just stopped by a propane shop who tested the hose which was the problem. The ball valve that RedHorse1 referred to is sticking. So I guess both hoses went bad at approximately the same time. Thanks for the input.

I know the BBQ forums say a good safety practice is to open the valve only one turn, that way if you have a fire it's a lot easier to get the valve closed in a hurry.
