no hot water

after winter trying to get hot water in our Jayco park model unable to tell which is the water bypass valve. We had someone winterize it and now we can't tell from the book which valve is which. We have hot water in the tank just can't get it in the trailer

Had the same problem check the valve in between the two water lines on the water heater. I had that one turned the wrong way after turning it. We had hot hot water.

if your hot water tank is full of hot water and you aren't getting any to the taps it sure sounds like the hot water out valve is still closed. jmooneys diagram is perfect explanation of how it should be.

Also if you turned on the electric heater with no water the element burns out very fast.

Yup, staring at exactly same situation this year when I dewinterized. Almost certain that valve from bottom of hot water heater is bad. It's still closed even though handle shows open. Tank fills but no hot water from faucets. Opening middle valve allows water to flow.

Been there done that. I have made a little picture in my trailer book to show me which way the valves are for each seasons

The valves are OPEN when the handles are in line with the pipes. The valves are CLOSED when the handles are at 90 degrees to the pipes.

As the picture shows above, when using the water heater, the 2 valves going into and out of the HW heater should be OPEN and the (bypass) valve connecting the two pipes should be CLOSED.

When winterizing, CLOSE the 2 valves into and out of the HW heater and OPEN the (bypass) valve connecting the 2 pipes.

Any other combination and you will not get hot water.
