No Power
I have a 2005 Jayco Jay Flight 5th Wheel. My brother and his family wanted to use it for the weekend at a BBQ cook off. My brother had the camper running off a generator (unknown further) and it allegedly worked fine the entire time. Well, I went to pick it up yesterday and had no power. I assumed the battery was dead so and plugged it into the truck in order to retract the slide out. No luck, even when plugged into the truck I have no power. The only thing that is working on the trailer are the exterior running lights. I have checked the main breakers and fuses that are located in the panel under the stove as well as the inline fuse on the battery (battery is 1 year old). I have zero power. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check to see if the ground post to the trailer frame is connected. Had a similar issue where my ground screw broke off the tongue. Had no power for anything.

Did you check the fuse at the battery?

Also, just to be sure, throw a voltmeter on the battery directly.
Do any 12v items work when the trailer is plugged in to 110VAC?

Fuses are good and even connected to the truck - you have no DC power - the ground issued suggested above may be an issue

The generator was gone when i arrived and there is no electric in that area, so i do not know if 12v was/ will work with 110. According to my brother it was working. I will try the voltmeter.

We had a similar issue, and there was a ground underneath the power box on frame.

I've been an electronics technician for over 30 years. I learned a long time ago that "It worked fine yesterday" cannot be trusted.
Always start from zero. Presume everthing is faulty. Then run diagnostics to prove each module is OK. After you KNOW that the parts are working properly, can you get the system going again.

As suggested clean both the grounds on the chassis till you see clear metal. Then use some copper grease and apply to the chassis and all the connectors. Just did mine 3 days ago. The chassis is painted and when they install the grounds on the chassis they use a galvanized self-tapping screw with a galvanized washer. That's looking for trouble after a few years. Similar problem is the elec. brakes connections.

Battery was dead, not real sure why it wouldn't find power when plugged into the truck!?!?! I put cables on the camper battery today and everything came on.

Thanks for the update. Nice to know you got it under control.
I'm a new TT owner and hope others with more experience will chime in with answers to your question: Why didn't things work when plugged into the truck?
My guess is that because the trailer battery was stone cold dead, the truck connector couldn't supply enough power to run the slide motor. That is just my guess.

I would check the trailer's umbilical to see if the recharge line is intact.
The truck probably won't supply more than a few amps to keep the breakaway battery topped up.

One possible reason could be a missing relay and fuse, as I just discovered myself yesterday: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...ing-16877.html
