Northpoint 377RLBH - Furnace melting fuses

Hello Everyone...

Ongoing furnace issues. Last year, we were melting fuses, couldn't figure out what was causing it. The only think we could think of was the blower motor going on, since that pulls a lot of amps, and it was making a whirring sound like it had bad bearings. Our service guy, Suburban and Assurant (the warranty people) agreed. They replaced it, but by the time we got it, it was almost spring and we didn't use it again.

Fast forward to this fall/winter, we found that it had melted/deformed the inside of the chamber (https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...ml#post1183828), so we got a brand new furnace, new fuel regulator (on the camper and the tank).

All good, right? Haha.

Made it a week, woke up last night and it was freezing again. Checked, no furnace heat. It would just click, and I could hear humming like the fan was trying to start. Service guy told me to swap the control board with the old unit (since that was still, technically, good). Went to pull the fuse and noticed it was melted.

Melted... Not blown.

Replaced the fuse, and it works again.

Our service guy is going to check some resources, but I figured I would ask here too - something is obviously pulling too many amps and is melting the fuse. The fuse box, manual and fuse board all say 20A, so that's what is what we have in it.

Thanks!

I'd check the actual fuse contacts for damage from the first issues, if not done already. A loose contact point would cause some arcing problems. Just thinking out loud.

I used to think outside the box. Then inside the box. Now I don't even know where I put the box.

I will check that. I do think it is a little loose, but not too bad. Ill give it a little squeeze (without shorting anything out).

Thanks!
