Scotch lock in the ceiling? That's just rude! I commend you for finding that, but I'll take 1/4 credit for thinking one of those little devils was the issue. Lol!

I will give you half credit. I couldn't believe there was a connection for the running lights in the ceiling!

Wow, that was an exercise in tenacity. Glad you found it and got an education in Jayco wiring to boot. Now you're our resident expert .

Those connectors are just for quick cheap connecting.Just what the manufactures want!

I was going to give up and just run a new wire but I hate to get beaten by a problem like this. I did remove every exterior light from the middle back and the first thing I learned was Jayco had about 100 feet of extra wire they wanted to get rid of when they built my camper!

I removed each of them at every exterior light and behind my load center. I cut, spliced, soldered and heat shrunk each connection. It was a tedious task but I figured I have each light pulled out so what the hell....

Electrical issues

I recently had new coach batteries installed in my 2017 SENECA. When I picked it up, I had no headlights, turn signals in the rear, and no brake lights.
I returned to the repair garage, turned out there is a lone in line fuse in the battery compartment of under the drivers seat the mechanic didn't hook back up. Looks like it was put in as an afterthought.
I wrote to the Forum about a year ago about an electrical fire I had under the kitchen sink from the outside TV wiring. This unit looks like a couple kindergarten kids wired it. Jayco should be ashamed of the lack of craftsmanship in their units anymore.

Jeeze, What a nightmare...

Feeling sorry for you, what a nightmare of wire...
Our 232 RBW TT outdoor running lights, clearance lights are tied together in the drivers side front outside hatch behind a 6 x 12 inch box held in with 2 screws.
Looks like a small box screwed to the wall
Hope that helps.
Normally do not high voltage and low voltage together in same area, but then again, we're talking Jayco here...

I can apply 12 volts to any of the non working lights and it will illuminate all that are non working but won't backfeed to the center Ambers. Obviously the break is somewhere between the Ambers and the tail but I can't find it. I have every light pulled out and all seems fine.

I traced the power wire to behind my load center and that's where my disappointment happened... I can't believe how anyone can consider this a good clean install!

Any thoughts on where the problem may be I'm open to suggestions.

I still believe before you are allowed to work on the assembly line at Jayco , you should have to live for 7 days & nights in a RV that just came off the assembly line. And move to a different campground every night. I bet you ,we the customers would see less problems on the units we buy. This should be MANDATORY....

I had a friend who was VP of Engineering for a very large multi national firm. When he first started out as a design engineer, it was a requirement that you had to build (if a small project) or project manage what you designed (if it was a large project).

He commented that there were few "field problems" in comparison to what is seen today. He said there was much consideration given to the design to be sure there were fewer construction problems.

Glad to hear you found the bad connection. I had to do some water damage repairs last month and found some real sketchy wiring behind the front shelve for the bed light.

That picture and the Jayco workmanship really makes me upset!

All I can say is thank god for fuses. When I put it back together, I cleaned off the burrs and put the wires in a Nylon Mesh where it runs through the frame.
I'm really behind on posting. I need to post the photos of the repair and upgrades I have done. The better half gave me a challenge when she wanted to replace the kitchen counter top with butcher block. I felt like I was working for NASA. "install this heavy 1.75" Thick chunk of material but you cant add any additional weight!"
