well, other than the obvious , Do not turn it up that high :-)
Seems my oven dial is - 150+ degrees off from the actual temp in the oven.
And here I thought I was just a bad baker till I got an oven thermometer.
I have had my cooktop shroud off and never saw anything like that (even on many past RV's). I wonder if the flame for the oven is too high? I am not sure, but if possible I would try to reduce the oven flame height (or oven gas pressure). Also, I may would add a metal shield to redirect the heat, although you would likely need to cut one yourself, homedepot sells metal for ductworks that may work for you. ~CA
Are other flames normal, could your regulator be malfunctioning?

Ms says I'm full of useless knowledge and other stuff...
In my opinion you've got a serious problem.
I'd pull it out a see what causing that severe a burn. Oven flame is at bottom of oven and maybe gets a inch or so high on high.
Be safe, if you can't do it, find help.
I've never seen anything like that!!!
