oven exhaust hood fan

I just bought a 2015 Jayco Jay Light 28BHBE. When testing things out I turned on all the oven burners on and the exhaust fan. After a few minutes the fan cut off and does not work anymore. The hood got a little hot but don't why it stopped working. Has anyone else had this problem?

If this is a new TT then a warranty claim is in order. If the fan motor is making the hood hot then it probably has a bad bearing, has seized and will need replacing.

There is a outside vent that has to be released to allow air to vent outside. It could cause the fan to overheat if not opened.

I don't understand how all these new rigs are getting a proper PDI from the dealer? What's up?

Ventline makes those motors. If your rig has the Canadian Flag on the outside, it has a small thermal cut off fuse in line with the hood fan motor. Once that fuse goes, you are supposed to replace the entire hood motor and wiring. We have been receiving the new rigs from Jayco with blown fuses. Its an SE fuse Number SF96E (I bought a bunch from China, for replacements).

Now, this is only installed for Canadian standards. If you bypass the fuse, its all good for US standards.

If you are still covered by warranty, take it in!

My guess is that the dealer's PDI makes sure each burner, oven, and fan are connected and are working.... and they were. Sounds like they failed a 'stress test.'
