Pinnacle kitchen lights not working

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I hope someone can help.

We live in a 2011 Jayco Pinnacle (36REQS). It's got non-LEDS for all the lighting. A couple of the overhead kitchen bulbs were burned out and I couldn't find any 12v bulbs, so I stuck some 10v ones in there and they worked fine.

Now it's a week later and NONE of the kitchen lights come on, not even the ones that weren't burned out.

Fuses seem fine, nothing is tripped. The circuit box (Cutler-Hammer brand) has a green light that was blinking till I pressed the "wizard mode" button, now it's a steady green but still no lights. Every other light inside the RV works.

Any ideas?

The lower voltage lamps may have pulled more current or failed and caused a momentary short as they did either of which may have blown a fuse. I would still suspect a fuse. Closely look at all fuses using a flashlight or better yet check them with a VOM meter. The older style glass fuses showed open much better than the new plastic covered fuses do.

Vic has good advice. The 12V items (lights mostly) are protected by fuses and the 120V things (AC, fridge, Micro..) are protected by breakers. If your fuse panel uses the flat blade auto type fuses you need to pull them out to check. Most times a visual inspection will reveal a melted fuse but I've had a couple of occasions where a fuse looked good but the VOM proved it otherwise. In our 5th I've had one switch fail but it was easy to tell since the rocker was loose and had no "snap" when moved.

Thanks for the replies. The fuses look normal. I don't have a voltmeter but fuses are pretty cheap. I'll replace them and see if that works.

Hopefully that's all it is, and I'll just keep looking for 12v bulbs.

Thanks again!

So I'm an idiot. I got 12v, 10 WATT bulbs, not 10v bulbs. I bought fuses and replaced all of them and no dice. I also replaced the bulbs with new bulbs and with bulbs from other lights that work, and nothing.

Any other ideas? I can't think of anything else.

Time to start looking for a loose connection. Start at the fuse panel.

I just left the local RV service dept. They said to check the light switch with a test light. I'll try that next and hopefully not electrocute myself.

When you say test for loose connections, are you talking about wires behind the fuse panel plate? I may have to get someone to look at it. Can't really take the RV to the service dept; that would take a 1 ton pickup that I don't have.
