Pleated Shade Crooked

So I have 1 shade behind the U-Shaped dinette in our 2018 Jay Flight 28BHS that is not even at the bottom and has been this way since delivery. I noticed it during the walk through, but figured it was an easy fix so I didn’t mention it to the dealer. The rest of the shades in the unit are acceptable.

I have tried to loosen the two screws at the bottom corners to adjust, but these two screws seems to only adjust the tension.

I can’t figure out how to straighten the shade out short of taking the whole thing down and tearing it apart.

Hoping that someone can advise on how to straighten these things out.

Thank you in advance!!

Cheers [emoji482]

The tension on the strings may be unequal causing one side to drag more.

Hold each end and push up on the lower one while pulling the higher one down until they are level.

Push or pull evenly when opening or closing. Smaller ones can just be one handed in the middle. If the re day/nights, only lower one level at a time.

I have found one spring (normally two) in the header was caught and not allowing full movement, but being new, I would have the dealer look at it.

Thanks Norty! I did try that on this one, it’s a little awkward due to the length. Didn’t have any success. I was able to do this method easily on our 2016 26BH, that’s why I thought it would be easy to fix when I saw it during delivery... I will try it again, maybe having someone help me might be the key.

On the higher side, wrap the string around the spool at the bottom a time or two. These are fairly tight so you'll have to do some tugging and pulling to get looped.

Thank you DonaandDon! If I can’t make any headway trying Norty’s suggestion, I may have to do this. Unfortunately the dealer is an hour away. But it is what it is I guess. Maybe they will surprise me and actually get me in in a reasonable amount of time if they even get back to me. Yep, it’s one of those high volume dealers....

Thanks Hoppers4! I’ll look into this as well!

I've replaced a cord in one of ours, and it's all one string up the side and across the top, where the string ends attach to a small spring up there, and back down the other side. they do cross side to side at the bottom. If .you have the day/night shades the pattern is the same, except for one more cross in the middle. I hope this made any sense.
