Plugged in 24/7 ?

I’m fortunate enough to store my tt at home. I have left it plugged in to house electricity 24/7 . Am I asking for trouble doing this or should I just get a battery tender? I don’t need to remove the battery, our winters are very mild. I appreciate any and all information. Thanks Folks!

Don’t see why it would hurt to leave plugged in 24/7, may use a little more electricity doing that. A battery tender is all I use because all I want is to keep the battery charged. If you do the Battery Tender, it’s best to add a battery disconnect switch so you are charging the battery and not back feed any power into the convertor. If I need to work in my TT while in storage, I disconnect the power cord, to the charger and plug in shore power cord.

Mine has been plugged in 24/7 for 9 years now with no problems & I check & add distilled water to top it off twice a year

Our rigs were plugged in 24/7 starting in 1977. All you need to do is check the battery water level regularly.

You will be just fine with a 2018 hummingbird. I keep mine plugged in all summer!

One thing to note, the OEM battery is not maintenance free. So you do need to check the fluid levels periodically. Just need a slotted screw driver to pop the caps, and decent light to look down into the cells. At minimum each cell needs to be kept wet. When you need to add fluid, ONLY use DISTILLED WATER. Do not use any other type of water. When adding distilled water, fill it up just below the lower part of the plastic ring.
