Get rid of your permanently attached cord and go with a shore power inlet and separate cord. The end that plugs into the shore power inlet will be a twist lock. I simply re-used my "permanent" cord when I installed my shore power inlet, all I had to do was install the twist lock on the existing cord. The molded male plug on the cord was OK so I didn't have to change that. No more knotted up cords and I can coil it up neatly and secure it with a velcro tie thingy.
