Power tongue jack will not extend, but retracts fine

On our first camping trip with our 2015 X213, the power tongue jack started giving me problems. When I hit rocker switch to extend the jack (raise the front end), I get nothing, not even a sound. However, when I hit the rocker switch the other way, to retract the jack (lower the front end), the motor engages just fine, and the jack retracts perfectly. The jack was working at the dealer when I hitched the camper up, and when I got home and unhitched the camper.

The battery is fully charged, over 13 volts. I also tried hitching my TV power up to give it extra juice, but still get nothing when trying to extend the jack.

I assume there is only 1 fuse for the motor, and if it was blown it would not work at all. I did check the two 30 amp fuses in my fuse panel and they are fine. I'm not sure if these are for the jack motor or not. I couldn't find any reference to a 30amp fuse (which the dealer said it would take) in the jack instruction pamphlet.

I have a call into my dealer, but if anyone has an idea here I'm be glad to hear it!

Thanks,

John

Switch gone bad? You might be able to troubleshoot that one with a volt meter.

I would agree - not a fuse issue - If it goes down, it has power to go back up.( eg. power is available at the device/switch)

If its an electrical issue, I would think switch or wire connected to the switch

Sounds like a wire came off on the back of the switch. Take the cover off and have a look.

I did take the cover off the and did not see any loose wires. Tomorrow I will see if I determine if switch is working with my volt meter.

I had a similar issue with mine the other day. I think the problem was I retracted it too far. I cranked it down a turn or two and then it worked fine the rest of the way.

X2

Happened to me as well. Just manually raised a couple turns and it then worked again.

I've cranked the jack all the way down several times to install and remove the WDH bars. It cranks very easy. The button still does nothing. After talking with a tech at my dealer going over all the possible things I could try, Jayco is drop shipping me a whole new jack assembly.

Mine was replaced with a Atwood 3500 power jack under warranty for the exact issue.
