Questions on replacing board on Atwood WH

So we have a 2007 Jayco JayFlight 23FB, with a dual mode (AC/Gas) water heater.

This weekend we had issues with it lighting and staying lit as well as it didn't seem to fail over to AC operation (we run both when we camp). We didn't get any fault light on the control panel just found out thanks to a very very cold shower.

I've seen many people talk positively about dinosaur boards especially as it sounds like Atwood is having major board issues lately, and I'm looking at the UIB64.

My questions are this It appears the dinosaur is a bare board, am I safe in assuming that I'll need to cut the existing board out of the housing? And if so, how do I go about I assume "waterproofing" the new Dinosaur like the existing board as the existing seems to be nearly completely covered in a rubber like coating.

Thanks!

Not sure about the board but the clear resin is called potting compound. Have you contacted Atwood?

It looks like that board comes with a cover to be used when installed on a HWT.
