Repairing a fridge door

Wonder if anyone has ever had any luck repair a broken shelf bracket on a door in a fridge. We overloaded it and a small piece that holds the door shelf in place cracked.

I'm sure some type of epoxy will be a temp repair but wonder if anyone has had this happen?

I had the same problem in our 2008. I ended up using clear silicone to adhere the shelf to the door but it could not be removed after that. There is a product called lexel that is like silicone only it is a crystal clear caulking and can be applied to surfaces that silicone won't adhere to. It is virtually invisible but the shelf still would be fixed permanently to the door. There is another product called Lepages 100 that I have used to rebuild insulation around small wires on the end of a dc transformer plug. It dries clear and hard but is somewhat flexible. It might work to rebuild the fitting on the door or adhere the shelf in place. The difference is this product flows unlike caulking and would require multiple applications to build up the fitting. Both products can be bought at Home Depot or Lowes.

Thanks! I have Lexel and use it for all manner of caulking. I never thought of just affixing the shelf permanently.

Its on the bottom and that may be a more permanent solution that may last longer than trying to make it removable.

Maybe try those new UV curable plastic welds that come with the UV light pen.

I had some white Lexel and applied some to the area, then put a small piece of Saran Wrap over it and then slid the shelf back in place. Taped it to cure. Hope it holds!
