Replacing Fender Skirt - Use washers??

Both of our fender skirts are cracked where the screws are. One of the skirts has started to flop around, so I have purchased some new skirts. I was wondering if some nylon washers might help to prevent the cracking at the screw holes in the future? Has anyone tried this?

I was curious if anyone would try or had tried nylon washers. My thinking ( I’m quite possibly wrong here, definitely would not be the first time) is that the nylon would still spread out the surface area for the screw head, but not be as tough on the plastic fender skirt. But then my worry would be that the nylon washers would not be strong enough like steel washers

Nylon would be fine, just don't over tighten. Firm is enough. I'd hold on to the originals as they can be used if necessary down the road. There is no reason they won't work if you apply a small layer of JWeld to the cracked hole and then reattach using the nylon or rubber washer.
