Roof sealing help

Hello all,

We have a 2013 Jay flight 26 RKS and on our most recent trip with it we were caught in some heavy rains. I noticed a small pool of water collected inside at the front left side. Inspected the roof and found the putty seems to be cracking. Any recommendations on replacing this putty? I believe to roof is a rubber membrane. See attached photos.

Dicor self leveling, it is a type of caulk. This is something that should be checked every 6 months, and touched up.

Personally, if your going to keep the unit for a few more years, consider applying eternabond over all the caulking.

The eternabond you refer to, do you recommend the tape over top the dicor self leveling? Or some other eternabond product?

I applied right over the top of the existing Dicor. Lots of people will use a plastic putty knife and remove as much of the old Dicor as possible. I do not care if it looks a little wrinkly, only I and the one above ever sees it.

I use 6" wide Eternabond tape, bit shy of a 50 foot roll. Only because the Dicor along the front cap was really wide in some places, and I would have had to be extra careful applying the 4" to get full coverage.

It took me two evenings to apply it. Evening 1, I washed the roof really well. Evening 2 with a dry roof, I applied the Eternabond to all the joints, vent openings. I applied full 6" wide tape, in most places. I did cut it down for the backside of my frig roof vent, and made a few cuts, and small wedge shapes to fully seal around the waste tank vents and radio antenna. Only thing I did not seal, was the caulking at the TV antenna, as I ran out of time.

If you want to remove the old Dicor, you will need to plan to add a few evenings.

Eternabond is super sticky stuff, so once it touches it is stuck. Do NOT stretch Eternabond, or it will release, within a few days.

X2

I keep a 50ft roll of EnternaBond on hand......, I overlapped (1") two lengths of 4" wide EnternaBond to adequately cover-over the existing caulk and clean surface contact (roof & front cap).
