Tip: if the seal isn't torn, wintergreen oil will soften and expand the rubber. It's an old car/motorcycle guy trick for softening and puffing up rubber that has hardened in the engine compartment or connecting carbs to head intakes. The chemical process is somewhat complicated, but just say it works to soften polymers that are based on rubber compounds.
I've use the stuff quite a few times bringing things back to life over the years...even on an original pressure cooker seal on an antique. However, I have not tried this on any hatch seals. I'm just offering it up as an alternative to try if you're prone to experiment.
So, where do you get it?....best deal around is Tractor supply. They sell it as a horse lineament. $15 for a lifetime supply. A heavy wiped on application allowed to absorb over a 24 hour period should swell the rubber by approx 10%.
Otherwise, Steele is the go-to.
