Good Sam Roadside Assistance. I gave up trying to change flat tires years ago.

This is music to my ears. Do they have torque wrenches?

Thanks for the tip.

Had not thought about a toolkit until we read your post above. We have most of the non-negotiables except for the torque wrench. I think I know what it is but why is it needed? Also, what size(s) do we need? Same for sockets.

Thanks,

I keep the torque wrench for the lug nuts. But the truth is, it lives in my tool box, so it's along for the ride anyway!

You'll have to decide on your own about sockets. I have the sets because that's what I have. The ones I added, I added for specific applications, so I don't know the sizes; just that they work for all the nuts and bolts on my trailer.

My trailer tool box has:
- cresent wrench
- channel lock, needlenose, and regular pliers
- multi-tipped screwdriver
- #2 phillips/ 3/8" flathead
- various left over screws from mods/repairs
- fuses
- electrical tape / duct tape
- manual handle for electric jack
- ZIPTIES.
- hammer
- electrial wire
- wire strippers
- box cutter
- leather gloves
- Navy shot-line (1/8" nylon cord)

Tire changing includes
T-wrench w/ tape around correct size (so I can find it in the dark)
bottle jack.

All of this will get me to the nearest repair shop.

A big thanks to all of you who have shared the contents of your toolboxes. There are distinct similarities but the real fun is in the disparities. Zipties? I would not have remembered and I use them a lot in my office.

Again thanks for helping us out.

For someone whose usual "toolkit" consists of a AAA and an AMEX card, these ideas are all wondrous. Two pages of responses.

Thanks to all.

I keep a small pancake air compressor under the bunk that will run off my inverter to pump tires and toys for the boys!

Bring what you will. When stuff happens you will be missing something. At least that is how it is at my place. Off to the store. Happy travels.

Might be time to get the eyes checked...I was reading bottle jack as "bottle of jack" and wondering what it would be used for and why it would be in the tool box instead of the liquor cabinet, lol!
