Seneca slideout topper awning replacement

Today I tackled the replacement of my two slideout topper's awning fabric. My Carefree SOKIII original fabric was falling apart at the seams. The replacement toppers came from Tough Top Awnings (https://www.toughtopawnings.com/) and the new fabric was twice as thick as the original. Hopefully the replacements last longer than the originals. Tough Top had an online video that thoroughly explained the SOKIII replacement procedure.

My only regret was that I did it on a 90 degree day in full sun. Should have picked another day, but it's done!

Carefree topper no longer carefree....

Yes, I saw your post on replacing your slide topper and I was wondering what specific site or instructions you used.
My 2016 Seneca 37FS has come about 90% out of the attach rail on the body side of the RV, and I believe at this point I just need to go ahead and replace it.
I appreciate any help and information you can provide.

In the earler post there is a link to Tough Top Awnings that I used to get my replacement toppers. On their website they have videos to show you how to replace them. Not too hard to do but you need a couple ladders and a helper is desirable.

Your Seneca from the factory uses Carefree of Colorado SOKIII slide toppers.

Thanks much, would have been good if I spent a little more time looking at the link you originally referenced.

You can also find some helpful vids on YouTube. I’ve done a couple and found having a helper is pretty much a requirement.

Is there any reason for the Tough Top over the Sun pro? It seems like the sun pro has a better warranty and kit for the retractors.

Letting the group know that I used the Fabric from SunPro Manu. The removal and replacement went as planned. One of my awnings ripped completely, so I had to guess how much tension to put on the springs. It retracted fine. I probably put a little extra tension on there, so I hope the springs last. Total time was about 90 minutes.... most of that spent moving the ladders back and forth to work on the replacement.

Lots of good replacement fabrics out there. I replaced both my slide top awnings and my main awning with Solera. Holding up nicely.
