Shrink tube butt connectors, self soldering

I decided to replace all my running lights and tail lights with LED lights. I knew this would take a lot of time screwing on twist cap connectors and I saw on Amazon that they sell shrink tubing with heat gun activated solder inside. search "Heat Shrink Butt Connector Butt Splice Electrical Waterproof Insulated Terminals" I got a pack of 160 assorted sizes and had plenty to do my Rv and help my relative do his with a lot left over.
You simply strip the wires and stick them into the ends of the tubing so they overlap. Then hit it with a heat gun to shrink the tubing for a seal and melt the low temp solder to make a good connection that won't corrode.
176 degrees is hot enough to burn fingers but won't melt your camper. Matches and gas lighters are not recommended. Now I had the heat gun to help take off my Dicor that was cracking on the roof! Cheapo from Harbor Freight worked ok. Fast and simple without the tape and messing of using twist caps.

I have used those same connectors with great success. I highly recommend them over other types (crimp in particular) connectors. ~CA
