Slide Out Seal Conditioner?

What do you use to ensure the seal on your slide out is properly maintained?

There are so many options and was hoping folks on this forum could point me in the right direction.

I've had the TT for two months and I was told to put conditioner on the seals every 3 months by the dealer. I'm guessing the heat (I live in South Texas - New Braunsfels which is just north of San Antonio) so it's hot and humid.

I just placed an order for aerospace 303 uv protectant. Gets great reviews for a bunch of different applications.

I've been using the 303 protectant, too, about 3 times a year for the seals.

Right or wrong, I spray it on the slide surfaces, not directly on the seals.

Reading through what it's good for, I'd imagine it's good directly in the seals too.

I put 303 on both sides of the slide seal. For the inside of the seal ( I'm still standing on the outside) I'll wrap the rag around my index finger and starting from the very bottom work my finger behind it and go all the way up and back down again. I do it 3 times a season and once before I put it away for the winter.

303 here too.

Unrelated funny (not so much) story.

I have a shelf in the shop dedicated to cleaning chemicals and automotive fluids, which I keep the 303 on as well.

Came in the shop a few days ago and my wife was going to town detailing the inside of her new vehicle, I didn't think much of it and went about my business figuring she was using the Armor All, Meguire's detailer or one of the other various automotive cleaners on the shelf.....nope, she emerges with my bottle of 303 in hand and proclaims "how great this stuff cleans".....I then let her know how much money she was spraying around as opposed to all the other choices on the shelf

I recommend buying the gallon size bottles of 303. You'll end up using it on your vehicles too. Can get a gallon for 40 bucks, but those smaller spray bottles are 20... pretty big price per ounce difference on something you will mostly likely use a lot.

Yep - formula 303. I use it on my vinyl tonneau cover too.

Add one more to the 303 column. I find these quite handy.

I heard that Newmar recommends using baby powder on their slidout seals. Apply powder to a cloth and wipe slide seals. Remove excess with a dry cloth.

I have been using the 303 spray on my 5er from the tires to the seals and it does work well. I purchased the gallon size and wipe it on instead of spraying it to save product.

I can't remember who but another manufacturer suggests baby powder. That is what I use. Smells nice, too!
