Storage: How to keep the refrigerator door open

Hello All,
I need some advise on keeping the fridge door propped open during storage and short trips where the fridge is not in use. My issue is that when I leave the door open it has a tendency to close on its own enough for the door seals to touch. We also tend to take short one or two night trips where we don't use the fridge, so I'd like something that can be kept in place while traveling. I have a Jay Flight 195RB with a single door refrigerator/freezer. I've seen products online to prop the door open on double door units, but nothing for the single door. Is anyone aware of any products or any homemade solutions to this problem?

I use a couple of ice trays setup in the freezer in such a way to force the freezer door to stay open which keeps the fridge door open as well.

DW picked this up on impulse awhile back - works well. A little tricky to line up keeping the freezer compartment open, too.

The latch on the top of the fridge in our 195RB has two positions. The middle position holds the door open far enough that the seal is not engaged and is where we leave it when not in use.

Our previous Greyhawk had a Norcold fridge that had a table on both the fridge and freezer door that would keep it from closing. Sounds similar to what ttavasc described.

If we wanted to make sure the doors stayed open, we would fully open the doors and then put a broom handle between the fridge/freezer and the door. If the door wanted to close on its own, there was usually enough pressure to keep the broom handle in place. If not, then the door would stay open anyway.

Keep in mind the doors only need to stay open while the inside is wet. Once it is dry, you can keep the doors closed.

I use a bungee cord from freezer rack to fridge rack.

Look behind the handle, towards the bottom of it, there is a little tab that you can engage. This keeps the door propped open just a tad. You can travel with the door in this position. I engage the this tab when ever we are not using the frig. This keeps the frig from molding.

No handle on our fridge and no tab. It's just the latch on the top left corner of the door which essentially does the same thing you are describing. Ours is a Norcold N302 model - perhaps you have a larger model or different brand fridge.

I would keep it closed during travel and bungee cord it open during storage.

Norcold N302 Owners manual Page 3 describes storage - "open the door just so the door latch (161) is between the ribs (166) of the latch plate (162)." I've always used this on my old hybrid.

What I use for storing our camp coolers is a fat binder clip (Staples). Like this: https://www.staples.com/Staples-Larg...product_831610
Clip it to the edge of the door with the wings open. Stays in place and easy to store. Might be an option if you don't have the clip in the handle.
Note that the binder clip capacity may restrict where you can clip it (about 1" thickness), maybe borrow one from the office first to see it if fits. I know the ones I use fit over our Coleman Extreme cooler, which has pretty fat side walls.
