I sent Jayco Customer Service an e-mail back on August 13th asking that very question, because I want to go from "C" rated tires to "D" on the same OEM rims that came with my '05' Eagle. On August 14th I received an e-mail response from Jayco stating, "Your email has been received and is being reviewed and researched". I guess they're still researching into it.

My rims don't have any ratings stamped on the outside, soooo guess I may have to break down the spare and see if there is a PSI rating stamped on the inside.

I called Jayco, gripped about the tires and load range, got the answer that the recommended pin weight is between 17 - 22%. At 17 % the trailer is not withing the ratings at 14500# GVWR. As the trailer has 21% pin weight dry I think it would be hard to get to 17% loaded.
I called Jayco with the VIN etc and asked about the the Aluminum rims PSI rating. Was told they are rated at the PSI on the street side Plackard, and don't know the maximum or minumum rating.

As I mentioned in an earlier post it seems to be the state of the industry to cut axles and tires to a close margin. I`m sure most of us would pay a few more hundred bucks to have beefier axles and tires under our rigs. That`s one of the reasons I did not go with a liteweight trailer. Even smaller tires, wheels, frames and axles, tank sizes and much smaller CCC.

Sounds to me like someone did not want to take the time to look into the matter as with Rustic Eagle`s request, he is still waiting for a reply.

Maybe I'll try parts and see if they can actually look at one. I got to believe that they actually know what the specs are on the parts they are buying. At least I sure hope so...

I was very fortunate I found the Jay Flight 19RD with a complete winter package installed. R19 sidewalls, R22 roof, R24 floor. All the tanks are covered and heated.

After reading all the problems with tires on our newly purchased Swift 145RB, we have decided to go ahead and replace the tires. Our question is which would be the better tire, Radial or Bias Ply?

Here's the only "D" load rated tire I could find for the 145RB (ours is a 2012 with ST175/80R13 tires):

I am expecting to receive them tomorrow and will post once I have some experience towing with them. I like the piece of mind of a higher load rated tire and am hoping the higher PSI will make towing a bit more efficient.

Just wondering if anybody has made any modifications. Amazingly enough, I went from a 1986 Coleman Columbia PUP to this Swift 145, and I think I need to make storage solutions!!!??
