Television replacement issues

We are spending two weeks at Anastasia SP in St. Augustine, FL while investigating potentially moving to the area full time. The first day the crappy original Jensen TV gave up the ghost, so we needed a new one. The TV in our 31DS is mounted on a motorized swing mount so it can swing 90 degrees to service either the overhead bunk or the main cabin.
Went to WalMart and got a 32" Samsung and that is when I found the issue mentioned in the post title: The original Jensen has two sets of mounting holes for a wallmount, the usual VESA ones and four others which are farther apart, which is what the mount uses Unfortunately all of the TVs sold today that I could find only have the VESA holes.
For the rest of our stay here I am just using the new TV on it's stand sitting on the floor of the overhead. When we get home where I have the appropriate equipment I will have to modify the mounting holes to fit the VESA standard.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so how did you deal with it?

Carefully measure and then drill new mounting holes on the baseplate

Snowbird, can't help with the TV, but I love your choice of 'roosts'. We live an hour and a half southwest of St Augustine, but visit a lot......with and without the travel trailer. Happy hunting and exploring.

OOPS! Reread your post and the new TV has a SMALLER pattern than the mount has. Never mind!!!!!

The VESA standards actually are a number of different "patterns" and just means that the spacing (depending on the pattern) is consistent across all mounts and TV's that support that specific "pattern".

Is sounds like the TV is using something like a 200 x 200 VESA pattern where the mount is a 100 x 100 VESA pattern. Anyway, had the same issue and bought these. Problem solved.

Not your problem, but when I replaced the TV over the fireplace in my W Hawk, the new LG matched up with the mounting holes on the plate, but the mounting plate covered up where the HDMI, coax, et cables plugged in to the new TV. Had to remove the mounting plate and cut out a generous access area on it so I could plug in all the goodies once the TV was mounted. Always gives me pause when I solve problems with a 4 1/2 angle grinder but it worked.

Looking at my situation Bassdogs, I fear I might have the same issue, as well as drilling new holes. Oh well, angle grinder to the rescue

We bought an adapter base plate on Ebay, that has holes and standoffs for many different kinds of TV's. There was one set that matched our Samsung 32".

There are lots of different kinds on Ebay, but this worked for us....
