The bleepin' Microwave BEEP.

Is there a way to disable the microwave's BEEP? I was trying to quietly cook a small breakfast snack without waking my husband. He was in the bedroom with the door shut, but by far the loudest noise was the beep of the microwave. Is there a way to turn it off? The manual shows nothing about the sound.

I know it's wishful thinking, but maybe there is a secret combination of buttons that reaches some kind of maintenance menu? #FingersCrossedForAMicrowaveMiracle

(I'd like the same thing for the electric fireplace, but that's a want, not an actual need.)

Um. It BEEPS when you SET it, not just when it's done.

(looking around for someone who has ever used a microwave.) :P

Following up. I happened to see a "silence your microwave" trick on a random YouTube video (at home) and it worked. You just hold the 1 button.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work on the microwave in our RV. I also can't find any menu setting like the ones we have on ours at home.

So, apparently some will and some won't. Too bad they all don't. It's quite nice.

Your DH must me a light sleeper. I never hear it. I also never notice when my DW gets up. I sleep like an old vacuum tube, out cold, and takes a while to get warmed up, and until then I am slow, fuzzy and sometimes whinny.

The silence option is in the cue along with the tap you on the shoulder when the food is done option.

If it bothered me much I would pull the housing off and cut the dang wire to the sound piezo.

Getting the 'wave off the wall has proven to be an interesting exercise for us. Clearly it was "mount once, remove never".

I had a cheap LaCrosse weather station that was fond of setting off it's alarm at 3:00am. Finally unsoldered it from the PCB.

Problem solved.
