tire trouble

My 2012 Jayco Pinnacle 35 LKTS is 13 months old and I went to Yuma AZ last winter and wore out those E rated tires in 9700 miles, I am trying Samson F rated tires. They are a heavy duty tire. and seem to have a good track record. I am hoping they are better than the G rated goodyear blow-out tires.
I paid $190 apeice for the SAMSON's compaired to $360 for Goodyear G rated ones. Just wanted to let ya'all know about my findings.

Please keep us posted on the service you get from them.

My 2011 came with GY Marathons LR E's and two have separated and two more almost had tread separation. As soon as they start again, I am jumping ship for another brand.

We sold the Goodyear "E" Rated tires shortly after we picked up our Pinnacle and bought a set of Sailun S637 "G" Rated tires.
The Saliun tire is getting a pretty good reputation.
The Sailun S637 is a nice heavy weight tire, great construction and we have over 10K miles on them so far.
They are holding up very well and show almost no wear at all.
Also the Sailun tires balanced with very little weight.
I run them at 100 PSI.
Cost is just under $200 each.

I got Tow Max on my Eagle. Not that many miles on them yet. Had a set on last unit and they were ok.

I have a friend with a Big Country fiver. The Saliun tires are what his came with new. He says they are still running strong after a load of miles with no problems.

Tires

I believe the problem is that very few trailer tires today are made in the US. Most are sourced in China-need I say more. Even the Goodyear Marathons are now made in China! I had a problem with my new tires our new X17D and after a lot of research learned that China is now the principal
supplier of trailer tires. Check out my thread on the Forum, "Modifications". A few are still being manufactured in the US, but you need to do some shopping to find them. Some Goodyears are still are made here. Japan is also a good source. I believe Toyo is one.
Good Luck.

I vote for Maxxis M8008 ST radial. They are apparently made in Korea, but have a very good reputation and I have had good luck with mine as long as I keep them at the proper pressure and keep them covered when park in the hot AZ sun. Decent warranty, too.

I have been a Goodyear supporter...up until now. I have had Marathons on the past 4 trailers I have purchased new and got good service from the GYs. My Pinnacle came with Marathons with load range D (which I personally think is underrated considering the weight of the Pinnacle). However, I have had to replace 1 tire due to a belt slipping. I'm in Alaska and the local tire store available bragged on Westlake tires, also made in China. I purchased the Westlake load range E as a replacement for the bad tire I had. I have towed it about 750 miles and it seems to be riding and wearing fine.

And each day I check my tires, I'm watching another Marathon that looks to be wearing unevenly (on the opposite side and different axle) similarly to the other bad Marathon. Granted, these tires take a beating up here with the road conditions. But I know the time will come where I'm throwing in the towel, biting the bullet, and getting Load Range E's all around...and they will not be Marathons!

Time to start doing research to see what is the best of the best. Maxxis, Saliun, or going to a LT? Time will tell...losts of opinions out there.

The Sailun is a LT, very heavy tire, good construction, we have about 15,000 miles on our Sailun "G" Rated tires, no problems, wearing great.

Price is around $182 each plus shipping

Another bad experience with GY Marathons here. They have all been replaced with Maxxis E range. No further problems after almost 2 seasons.

I had tread separations on 2 of my 4 Marathons on the new rig in just over 2 years. No damage because I found them before they blew.

Goodyear replaced 2 and adjusted the other 2, so now I have basically a new set. I hope they last 2 more years, then I plan to go to a heavier tire.
