Toilet Seal Not Holding Water

Iíve just noticed my bowl is not holding water. Obviously seal not working. Does this require repair or replacement and how hard is it to do?

Give it some Vaseline if that doesn't work then replace it.

Take a piece of coat hangar or similar and gently clean the seal. You may have a piece of TP stuck in it.

Hi Grumpy! HNY. I gave it a good scrub... no change.

I have the Thetford and replaced the seal. Not too difficult but you do end up having to pull the toilet off the floor. Use seal lube and apply regularly.

Occasionally our seal will not hold water and we just squirt a little cleaner then flush and stick a toilet brush in the hole with the seal open, release the valve and twist the brush a few times.

This works for us.

Side note: I have never had a problem with a Thetford toilet seal but the other brand, not so much.

I have one of those foam finger dish washing brushes from the dollar store, works great at keeping the seal clean and the bowl.
