TT flooring replacement
Early this summer I opened up trailer to clean and get ready for a trip and discovered three huge rips in the vinyl flooring in my RLS28.
Has anyone replaced their TT flooring with vinyl planking . The idea of putting down sheet flooring makes me cringe. Planks seem the way to go. Looking for experiences from do it yourself kind of folks or, if you’ve opted to have it installed to save your knees and backs. My biggest concern is the slide out closing in and scraping the new floor .

Have you figured out what caused the rips? There is no reason to replace the flooring if it’s just going to get damaged again.

You did not include your model year, any chance it is under warranty.
X2 on find the cause before you replace it.
I helped my brother do snap together plank flooring after replacing the old floor. It came out very nice. Had to add cove molding to make it look good and allow expansion space around the edges.
It wasn't really very hard to do.

Extreme cold has been known to destroy some vinyl floors in trailers as described. You can put new vinyl down and use quarter round molding around the edges. There is also the vinyl planks or laminates, but as mentioned insure your slide will not rub if the floor is raised. There are several threads here about members that put on new floor covering.

After a water leak got under the oem flooring, I cut it out and replaced it 100% with a plank product available thru Home depot. Forget the product but it was highly recommended on several rv forums. It is easy to work with, can be cut to fit around pipes and inside corners using a razor knife. Each plank seals against the previous plank and the whole thing sort of floats [it is not glued]. I used the TT for 3 more years after making the repair and it looked as good then as the day I installed it. Much nicer looking and rugged. Cost about $250 and came in several color designs.

TT flooring replacement
Replied to three people and didn’t see my response.
I have a 2006 jayco featherweight RLS 28.
Not sure what caused the flooring to rip but, after having new tires put on I put the trailer in storage and it sat for two years. Couple hard winters. Thinking tire store jacked the trailer up improperly. Just not sure of the cause but done is done.
The slider looks to have 1/2” of clearance. Looking for suggestions and tips for installation, tools that make it easier on the knees, back artificial hips.

The vinyl they put in those years was a less stress-able quality and the vinyl will rip in harsh winter conditions. Through our RV business we get many trade-ins which have this problem from the 2003 to 2008 years.
Vinyl plank flooring is a good option, just redone a 2017 Riverstone which had issues with shrinkage due poor quality vinyl material.

For those that put down vinyl plank flooring, did you put it on the slide floor?

Slide floor is usually carpeted to cover the gap underneath.

I replaced mine, vinyl plank from Home Depot, I filmed it an posted it on YouTube, I chose to glue it in place, I’m very happy with the results.
Here’s a link if you’re interested, https://youtu.be/9fA71KCqOuk
