Warranty work?
We purchased our 2019 212QBW last Oct., and had some warranty work done to it recently. We are camped just south of Quartzsite AZ, and a couple of weeks ago, our water heater stopped working. The closest place to have it worked on was a Dometic mobile tech from Quartzsite who came out and replaced the water heaters circuit board.
Dometic will take care of the part cost, but I paid for the $75 service charge. The tech told me to contact Jayco, and plead with them to take care of the service charge and they might reimburse me for it. The nearest Jayco dealership is in Phoenix.
I also have a 15" propane tank connection hose that leaks out of each crimped end, so the hose has to be replaced. The local RV store told me to purchase one, and take the receipt to a Jayco dealership and they should reimburse my cost.
Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, how did it turn out for you in the end?

You usually need to get "pre approval" from JAYCO first. Dometic Tech could have called JAYCO CS and gotten a verbal then you can submit receipt to JAYCO, not dealer, for reimbursement. Same with the hose, you should have called JAYCO first. You can try and call now and see what they say.

Thanks Grumpy. Its too late for the service charge from the Dometic guy. Needed Hot water for the dishes, etc, so for us that was an ASAP priority. Ill see what Jayco has to say, and keep the forum posted. Cell service stinks here, so Im going to have to email them (I prefer things in writing anyway).
I havent done a thing with the leaky hose yet, nor a bad faucet switch that showed up within the last few days. I just swap the 30# tanks to the good hose, and deal with spray only from the kitchen faucet since they arent major issues. Figure Ill stop by a dealership sooner or later, and have them fixed.
Thank you for your response.
Tom

I wouldn't expect Jayco to pay for 'remote service' under the warranty unless you had made arrangement with the Jayco selling dealer for remote service at say a seasonal site. Usually they require you bring the rig to them for service. I had an arrangement with my selling dealer for remote service at my seasonal site because I wan't going to break down my seasonal setup and tow a 41' rig in for repairs. The sale was contingent on them agreeing, which they did. They came and replaced my awning and Furrion stereo system. For miscellaneous repairs, ie propane hose, USB port.. My dealer would ship me the part via UPS, then I'd replace and return them the defective part.

We live in Reno NV, bought the 5th Wheel in Sacramento CA and were visiting Bend OR when there was a leak from the faucet connection under the kitchen sink. I could not reach the fitting because of the cabinet configuration. I found a mobile tech, made an appt., then called Jayco and the entire cost was reimbursed to us. Good karma or a helpful person at Jayco....who knows.

My experience is different. See my post "Feather coming home". While in Scottsdale, Az last November, Camping World of Scottsdale referred me to a mobile repair (several actually) for assistance. Yes, I bought from Camping World, but in OKC. Then, following inability to remedy failures, I made appointment at a NON Camping World RV outlet, closer to home. When they asked my why I chose them over the 'selling dealer', and after showing them Geotagged photos of the unit the day of delivery with defects, they understood. The Camping World 'dealer' closest to me won't work on anything they didn't sell.

Thank you. Im out $70 for the service call, but it would have cost me just as much to haul it over to Phoenix for what should be a five minute repair, and having to stay in a motel for the night plus gas for the truck. So in reality I think Im ahead.
Warranties are great for autos and such, where you can drop the car off at a stealership for a day or two when you can get at least a loaner car, but not so much when you have to live in it. I still havent contacted Jayco yet about the circuit board replacement. I have the e-receipt, which is dated, so I will contact them soon.
