Warranty work question

New to Jayco and RVing, but about to take off on an extended trip with a 7 month old Jayco FW. Wanted to ask if folks have any issues getting warranty work done while out on the road away from the selling dealer.

Thanks for any experiences you share!

Sometimes it is a problem at home, I think it easier on the road.

Neither of my Jaycos ever required a dealer visit and hopefully yours won’t either.

But I’ve read on here that some have had service done on the road by calling Jayco and getting pre-approval to have a non-Jayco shop service their camper. That’s if there wasn’t a Jayco dealer nearby willing to do the work...

Although it wasn't a Jayco specifically it was a Thor Challenger and we had a slide issue on the road. Thor authorized a mobile tech to come to the campground. We had to pay up front but we did, eventually, get reimbursed by Thor. It took about 4 or 5 weeks for the reimbursement.

I talked to Jayco about the Accolade a couple weeks ago and they are willing to work with independent shops if you can find one willing to work with manufacturers warranties or if you are willing to pay upfront and get reimbursed later.

Although there are exceptions, the trend is dealers do not service, under warranty, what they didn't sell. After the warranty has expired they will tend to bring them in because they can get their full hourly rate and time estimate rather than the discounted warranty rate and time estimates.

I have a 2018 J Flight 23RB. It was in it's second year of warranty while we were on an extended trip to the rockies. we bought the trailer in North Carolina.

We developed a major leak in the bathroom sink. We were passing through Idaho Falls, ID on the way to Grand Teton NP. Bish's RV Supercenter, an authorized Jayco dealer, had a location in Idaho Falls. They were able to fit us into a very busy schedule, found the problem, which was a cross threaded faucet done at the factory. Bish's pulled a faucet off their retail shelf and replaced the old faucet. Bish's did a great job for a traveler who was a long way from home.
