Water heater bypass valves? - 2008 Jay Series 1006
While trying to winterize our 2008 jay series 1006 pop-up trailer, I managed to fill the water heater with antifreeze. I can't for the life of me find the valve(s) to block this. All antifreeze went into tank and nothing from the faucet. I have flushed it out now again with water. I successfully found the valves for the fresh water tank, the siphon and the lowest level valves, but none to bypass the water heater.
Can anyone direct me as to where i might find them? Is it possible my unit wouldn't have them?

They are probably under one of your benches, or most likely your front driver side storage area. There might be an access panel you need to remove to find them..just looking at pictures of your model on google and that looks to be where your water heater is located..

As stated they should be visible close to the WH. If you haven't drained the wh, I would try to recover the anti freeze. I would have been getting a little suspicious after a gallon went in and did not change the water coming out of the faucets color.
Usually a gallon or less will do the whole thing.
On a positive note, You do not have to worry about the water heater freezing!

My 2008 STARCRAFT 14R/T POPUP trailer uses the three VALVES Hot Water Heater bypass setup...
These are laying on the floor just inches away from the hot water heater just behind the cabinet door...
The operations of the three valves are like shown here... NOTE the oblong shape of the valve handle tells which direction is OPEN and CLOSED...
The newer trailers may use two or one valves to do this operation...
I use the BLOW-OUT METHOD on my smaller footprint POPUP trailer. I just drain the fresh water tank and water lines at the low point drain under the trailer. I will open my HOT and COLD spigot at the sink and this also will drain the hot water heater down to the bottom water connection. Then I use a 12VDC tankless compressor connected to the city water port and blow out all of the lines down the sink. Once that is done than I add just a tad of the pink stuff to the sink P-trap...
I can do all this real quick and then when camping late in the season this is neat if you happen to be up in the mtns and the temp gets down around 10 degrees or so. Then you just add water the the next day and continue on....
There is not a whole of things to do with the small POPUP trailer trailer water wise...

My old pop-up, we had to add it to the system. It didn't come from the factory.

You may not have bypass valves. We had that issue on one of our old units. There is a kit you can use. Unscrew the pipes and add a small hose between the two pipes. Not fun to do, as you rarely have enough room.
Camco has a couple different kits, I would look at adding the Supreme kit as you leave it there all year, and it works just like our OEM bypass valves.

Many older rigs did not have them but an 08, I would think should.
As stated it is not hard to do if you are only 3 ft tall and have very small limbs. LOL

I bought a 1983 vintage trailer in 2009. The original owner included the bypass plumbing that had to be swapped in and out each season. I replaced it with a two-valve setup after the first year!
Even then, you had to crawl under the bed, work your hands past the 120V breaker box and flip both valves.
The 2015 trailer with 3 valves and easy access? Heaven!

Hot water tank heater
Yep. Wrong valves closed/open. Called an RV dealer. Simple. Warned you that I am a "rookie". So.........is it better, ie., cost effective, to leave the hot water heater on all of the time or, to shut it down except for planned events, ie., overdue showers?
