Water heater issues

Our Atwood electric/gas water heater with electric spark won't light. We flip the switch, can hear it clicking, but won't light.
Does the AC switch have to be off?

The circuit board is 12 volts. Make sure you have good gas pressure at the stove and the line is purged of air. I usually open all 3 stove burners for 10-15 seconds to purge the gas line before trying to start the water heater.

There have been a number of folks on this site with a similar problem. The cause was a bad circuit board.

Is your unit still under warranty?

Thanks everyone, we'll try flushing the air out of the line and then look at the circuit board. It's not under warranty.

Make sure there is water in the heater tank.
Don't ask me how I know that.

You may want to check the burner tube for insect / spider web type obstructions as well.

There is a valve, I think it's called a solenoid valve. This tends to stick shut. The first time I use the tankless water heater I tap on the valve with anything, then it opens and then no more problems. I got this solution straight from Jayco and it works every time.
