Water Pump/De-Winterizing Issues
Hi there,
My boyfriend and I recently bought a 2007 1206 Jayco Pop up trailer. We are brand new to having a plumbing system so we feel a little lost.
We filled our fresh water tank to flush out the anti freeze but when we turn our water pump on it seems like it runs and runs and runs. How long is it supposed to run for? I've been reading that our fill valve is on city instead of fresh water but we do not see anything of the sort on our trailer. We are getting water out of the tap and outdoor shower and we see the pink being flushed out but the pump never turns off.
My other question is since we don't have a hot water bypass valve, when we turn on our hot water tap we can see the air sputtering out, should we just keep the tap on until the water reaches the hot water tank and comes out of the tap?
Sorry for the long post! I appreciate any insight that can be given!

You need to get all the air out of the lines. When you fill your tank up, turn your pump on and open the furthest hot water line and let all the air blow out until you get water. then close valve and you pump should soon turn off. Then go one at a time closer to flush out the pink stuff

Yes leave the tap on till water comes out.. you need to fill the hot water heater 6-10 gallons.. this takes time..

Also make sure the valve for the anti-freeze hose is closed, it could be sucking air.

Make sure the bypass valves for winterizing are in the correct positions

Where is this valve located?
Thanks so much for all the responses, like I said we feel very lost when it comes to location of valves and whatnot. The manual is of no help so I appreciate it

Awesome! Thanks chrismoore701. Just want to clarify, the furthest hot water line from what? The water pump? What valve needs to be turned off after? Thanks!

It should be right near the pump on the water tank side (input side)

Find your water pump. Thats where the extra hose is that is used to siphon antifreeze into the lines for winter storage. There are two valves located there. This toggles if the pump is pulling from the fresh water tank, or the siphon hose.
The pic show valves in the normal positions for pulling fresh water
Do this ( check this) before you do anything else
