weather strip won't stay in channel!

Hi - surrounding the RV door, on the outside is a metal channel with a rubber weather strip.

The rubber strip won't stay in the channel anymore. I tuck it in, and within a few miles, it's flapping in the breeze.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to "glue" it in there. I'm looking for something strong enough to hold it in place in 60mph wind yet maybe be removable (or I can scrape it off) on the rare chance I have to yank the entire door out someday.

Any suggestions?

I'm leaning to dabs of silicon caulk every 12" or so, in the metal channel and then smush the weather stripping back into place.

Thank you!!

For some reason it might stay not in place example: because the door-handle is near and fingers move the strip out. or the strip edges don't hold. Dap of silicone can make it worst special if the area need service.

It's all around the entire door. even on the leading edge, away from the handle.

Had the same issue

I just used black RTV. I took my Class C in for warranty for this on one side, and that's what it looked like they used. Had the same issue on the other side, and rather than take it up there, I just bought a tube of JB Weld Ultimate Black RTV. I carefully filled the outer channel, and smoothed it with a wet finger. No more flapping gasket on the highway.

We used Gorilla Glue but it turned somewhat yellow. I believe they now make a clear product though.

I used clear Proflex sparingly; pull the strip out, apply a small bead of Proflex clear, re-insert the trim. I haven't had it blow out since I did this.

If the flex is out the plastic insert replace it. It gets hard when exposed to UV.
