Where to find replacement rims

I had posted about losing a tire off my TT on my way to Northern Michigan earlier this week. The whole tire, rim and all. It sheered the five studs, dust cover and lug nuts away. I recovered the wheel assembly three miles back from where I was told by a fellow motorist where it came off. I immediately started a search for a new, matching 14" rim since the old one suffered some egg-shaped rounding where the lug nuts would mount against it.

After searching a bit on Ebay and Amazon, I tried the closest Jayco dealer (90 miles away). They said it was no longer available but that it was superseded to a similar one. The similar one was only available with the tire on it (I'm guessing another Ranier) from Jayco. It was $115 plus $85 shipped UPS to my home.

Are there other options out there? Thanks!

A lot of Jayco wheels came from Sendel Wheels. Mine did, but I don't know if Jayco still sources from them or not. Good luck.

Look under Sendel and also Tredit. Both were once Jayco rim providers. The web sites have good pictures that will enable you to match what you have, hopefully.

They sent me a rim that was exactly the same.......Except without a pin hole.

Try www.trailertiresandwheels.com as well. They have SOME Tredit and Sendel.

Thanks all! I tried all the suggested companies here and located the rim by picture matching (Tredit was the winner). After learning the brand and model, I then went to Ebay and found it with the five lug nuts and chrome dust cover included, shipped to my door for $97. The rim arrives Friday but I'm nearly 300 miles away camping and stopping at another park for four days on the way back. I still need a plan B to allow me to have a spare to get home with. Maybe a white rimmed tire at TSC is available in my size. :-)

Too bad Amazon didn't have it, they'd deliver to your campsite. Been there and done it. Do you know the address of where you'll be? UPS or FedEx will deliver to a campground.

!
that sounds like loose lugnuts were the culprit.

They were. I had taken all the tires off to inspect/grease the bearings. The last wheel I did was the wheel I lost. I suspect I didn't tighten them down further after I got the wheel down on the cement. I had already put 1,000 miles on the wheel prior to the grease job without incident. I had 240 miles on it after the grease job when it sheered off the studs.

That would have been a lot better. I am going to visit the local TSC tomorrow. I'll still be 150 miles from home when the rim gets in Friday (better than the 280 miles at the moment). The problem, obviously, is no spare on board except for the tire that sheered off. Not a good back up.

I might take a chance without it. I once had a tire blow and was not near anywhere that sold tires. We drove over 200 miles to the nearest place that had a tire. I did sweat it the whole way but it was uneventful that time. Another time I had a bad rim, pinhole, and Tredit shipped one to my house 300 miles away. I bought a steel rim from a tire shop and made the uneventful drive home. New rim on my porch.

I now have a unused rim that hopefully will never be used again.

I just ordered a new exact match rim to a 2011 Octane for $90 delivered to my front door from Discounttiredirect. I couldn't find it on their web page so called them with the Sendel specs and the design and they got it to me in 8 days...
