Winterizing problems

So we drained all the water out f the trailer . Turned our one valve system to winterize . Pink antifreeze comes out of all the cold taps but nothing comes out of any of the hot taps . Anyone know what's going on? How to fix this ? It's getting cold here fast

Sounds like you need to make sure your hot water heater is bypassed. Check your manual to see of there is another step after moving the valve to winterize.

Pull that water heater drain plug and while somw newer bypass setups use a single valve, my 17 model still used two valves for the bypass. Almost forgot to check the outside shower.

My ‘16 uses 3 valves. 2 to isolate the water heater and 1 to bypass it.

Sounds like you may have inadvertently put anti-freeze in the water heater. There should be 1, 2 or 3 valves to bypass the water heater. Our 2009 Greyhawk had 3 valves to bypass, our current 2017 Bungalow has a single valve to bypass the water heater. The bypass valve would be at the back of the water heater where the water lines connect to it. You won't be able to see them from outside the trailer.

Welcome aboard!

What year and model TT do you? As others mentioned, did you bypass the water heater (if it is a tanked water heater)?

Go outside locate the water heater. Open the cover, and you will see a plastic plug down low, you will need a socket wrench with an extension to get it out, I think it is a 15/16", maybe a 3/4", remove it, and open the pressure relief valve up high. that will drain the 6 gallons of water. Next go inside and locate the water heater. On the back side depending on the year and model, there will be up to 3 valves to turn. You need to turn each valve 90 degrees, this will bypass the water heater. FYI, you usually need a #2 square drive screw driver to get in to the backside of the water heater. On my HTT, I access it from above through a dinette bench. I left the screw out for easy access. Others have to remove a screw that keeps a cabinet door closed.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

I had the same problem, never did figure it out.
I only have 1 bypass valve, had pressure to that valve, but could not get antifreeze to bypass WH.
I think I might have a faulty valve.
I drained everything on the hot water side and left valves open.
I'll troubleshoot next Spring.

I've owned r TT's and never had this problem.

Update!
We got it ! Thank you all for your replies. My hubby found another valve up and hidden behind the pipes. Our owners manual was no help at all. We are now winterized for the season. 😃

owners manuals are a joke, not to mention any new purchase orientation by the dealer.
