X23B hybrid fold out bed latch

The latches on my 2012 hybrid fold down beds have an issue. There is a white 2 inch x 2 inch rubber pad that makes contact between latch and the bed/door. Two have come off and the other two are cracking and peeling off.

Can I get replacements from Jayco? Or anyone out there have better solution?

Yes, I went to the local hardware store and bought a rather hard rubber pad about 1/4" thick , glued it in place and now I'm on year #2 and still as good as new.

Welcome to the forum.

And a solution so soon! Certainly worth the price of membership.

Under warranty the dealer glued on two with epoxy. I reglued mine back on with a little gorilla glue. It seamed to work great.

You absolutely need those pads, they apply just the right pressure to the doors, to keep them sealed tight. I was short one pad twice, and it rained and had water on my vinyl when I opened the bunk.

When we owned the X23B I was worried about those pads but never had any problems with them. I guess we didn't own it long enough. But...

I saw some nylon sheet for sale on ebay. You could buy a sheet of that in an appropriate thickness, cut the pads to size and glue them on w/ gorilla glue (I agree w/ Jag). Like he also suggests, I think those are key to helping keep water out.

Until you find a suitable replacement I'd suggest putting something in its place as a temporary solution. eg: inner tube, cut up "tupper ware" container, pieces of milk jug (any kind of plastic jug) cut into pieces...

I'd doubt Jayco could provide replacements since I recall they began using a different latch system a few years ago.
