Congrats, Husker! Sorry you had to endure those winds on your first pull of the new rig. Now you can remove "soon to be" from your signature!

Nice surprises in 2017 28DSBH

I didn't see these listed in the enhancements for 2017, but they're on the new 28DSBH:

1. The awning is a full two feet longer than last year's and now covers both entry doors.

2. The second entry has a full three steps instead of the two from last year.

3. There's an independent light switch for the light over the dinette (previously you had to use the switch on the light fixture itself). The new switch is located next to the switch for the up lighting in the slide out surround. There's still a convenient switch on the fixture itself.

If I find anything else I'll let you know.

Also, the cabinets over the sofa are now gone in the 2017 model. First "subtraction" I've noticed from the 2016 MY.

Noticed that 2017 specs are updated - the trailer is a bit heavier than MY2016.

2017 White Hawk 28DSBH | Jayco, Inc.

360 view shows additional fan in the living room area - the option I missed when placing the order...

Bono,

It is definitely a couple of hundred lbs heavier. In their specs, Jayco also lists just 22.5 gallons of grey water capacity for the 2017 DSBH, which can't be right, it has two grey water dump valves. They probably meant 22.5 gal per tank...

I thought you ordered that extra fan...did they screw up your order? Nice catch on the 360 view, it shows exactly where the fan is and would definitely make it easier to add one aftermarket, something I'm thinking about doing down the road.

Well, I placed an order in April, asking the dealer to place an order with Jayco at the end of May. When I found out what the new option means, i.e. additional fan and not an upgraded fan in bathroom as I thought, they told me that the trailer was already manufactured (in May).

They agreed to reorder the trailer for me, but it would cost me additional $1.5k - they said that Jayco increased prices in the meantime. I agreed to take the trailer already manufactured (without additional fan).

Yikes! Well, when you look at where the fan is, it's obvious there's 12 volt power right at the nearby light, so it's a pretty easy aftermarket install, either by a dealer or as a do-it-yourself project. And just a couple of hundred bucks instead of $1,500!

Look at the bright side...other than the fan issue, you got a 2017 trailer at 2016 pricing...nice!

I'm going to be installing a Vortex II fan in the bathroom, probably tomorrow or next weekend. If it moves enough air to serve as a "whole trailer fan" then I'll stop there. If it doesn't, I'll install the create a breeze in the living room area. I imagine with two reversible fans I'd get some pretty amazing airflow through the coach!

Exactly my thoughts. I already purchased Maxxair fan and will install just after picking up the trailer.

Vortex II Installed in bathroom

Installed a Vortex II fan in the bath today. I'm pretty happy with it, will post a pic or two later.
