02 E450 rear brakes

Anyone do their own brakes? I had the rear brakes on my 02 not release. By the time I got stopped they were smoking. After sitting for a while I was able to complete my short trip. I removed the calipers when I got home, and found they were oversize , and stuck in the caliper, I guess from the heat. The pistons are made of a fiber material. I installed new pistons, and seals. I don't mind telling you the outer seals were very hard to get back on. I have a question: The calipers are held in place with a stainless steel rail (what I call it) Should these metal rails be lubed? reason they looked very shinny like the didn't need anything? any thoughts? The slides and other points on caliper the slides, pins need caliper grease not chassis grease also you may want to check the rubber hoses to the calipers the insides collapse and will not let the fluid return to master cylinder also I flush my fluid every few years the whole system.
